Two flash units, each triggered by sound, were used to capture two images of a cylindrical balloon while ripping. The triggers are shown in the foreground. One is farther from the puncture site (blue probe on left) than the other; hence, the flash connected to that trigger occurs a short time after the initial flash. A section of the original, unresized image of the meter stick is provided below in order to show how sharp it appears.
