Recommended Vendors & Lenders of High-Speed Equipment

This is our short list of recommended vendors. We include only those vendors whose products and/or services we've tried and tested.
Mumford Micro Systems	If you need an off-the-shelf unit designed for high-speed photography as well as other special photographic effects, check out the Time Machine. It's a programmable, timed controller for which many sensors are available.
Phototrap.com	This is a great system for field work where you need to leave equipment set up outdoors for long periods of time. Of course, you can also use it in an indoors studio.
Prism Science Works	We sometimes get inquiries for short duration flash units, that is, less than a microsecond. The Spot from Prism Science Works is a 500 nanosecond unit that provides relatively bright and uniform beam coverage.
Motion Capture Technologies	We occasionally get inquiries about high-speed video cameras. Buying one of these is well beyond the budget of most photographers, but if you just need a camera for a short time, this company will rent you what you need.
