PGU. Photogate Upgrade Kit

 

Note: This upgrade is only for versions of our kits before v10. (For the version number, look in the upper right-hand corner of the instruction sheet that came with your kit.) The version that we are currently selling is v10. Any kits that you purchase from us now do not need the Photogate Upgrade Kit, since we've incorporated these upgrades into the v10 version.

 

For versions prior to v10, you can make upgrades to an existing SPG1-DU-BB or SPG2-DU-BB circuit with this kit. Before doing the upgrades, you would need to have already purchased and assembled an SPG1-DU-BB or SPG2-DU-BB according to the instructions here.

 

The upgrade kit includes components to do the following:

• Add a red indicator light to show whether the photogate is properly aligned. This works whether or not a flash unit is attached.

• Add a red indicator light to indicate that the delay unit has triggered. This works whether or not a flash unit is attached.

• Add a 100-kΩ potentiometer to the delay unit to provide for fine adjustment of the time delay in addition to the coarse delay adjustment already provided by the 1-MΩ potentiometer.
