Multi-Trigger 2 control box (assembly required) |
The Multi-Trigger 2 has the following features:
- all components hard-wired for durability
- on-off switch
- operates on standard 9V battery
- jack for optional 120-240 VAC to 9 VDC adapter
- LEDs to indicate power on, photogate alignment, and event triggering
- test button for the delay unit
- inputs for microphone and photogate cables (cables included)
- switch to select for microphone or photogate input
- sound trigger can be activated by a finger snap at a distance of 30 ft. or more
- fine (up to 0.05 s) and coarse (up to 0.5 s) delay adjustments
- switch to select one of two delay ranges (0 to 0.5 s or 0 to 0.05 s)
- continously-variable timeout setting up to 1 s
- sensitivity adjustments for the sound and photogate triggers
- external input to connect other triggers to the delay unit
- instant and delayed optically-isolated outputs for camera and flash
The PC board is bolted to the lid of the project box as shown to the right. This reduces the possibility of breaking connections when the lid is removed to add or replace a battery.
The MT2 also includes the adapter shown to the right to convert the 3.5mm output jacks to RCA jacks for use with existing flash trigger cables that have RCA plugs.
| In addition to the parts for the control box, the MT2 kit comes with all the parts needed to prepare the sensor cables below. | |
| Photogate cable (interrupter type) |
Photogate cable (individual emitter/detector type) |
| Microphone cable | External trigger cable |
Either of the MT2's two optically-isolated outputs can be used for camera or flash. These outputs cannot be used for older model high-voltage (>80 V) flash units. However there is an optional extender kit that provides 4 additional outputs. See the output strip shown on the left side of the box on the photo to the right. (Click to enlarge.) The extender kit provides the following:
- instant and delayed switch outputs for high-voltage flash
-
low-voltage (7.5 V) pulse outputs that can be used to actuate flash units requiring a trigger pulse. These outputs can also actuate LEDs, low-current relays, and other devices. The delayed output can be held in the on state for a variable amount of time up to a second.
| Here's what else you need besides what's provided with the MT2 kit. | ||
| A flash trigger cable is needed to connect the outputs of the MT2 to your flash. Our cable kits include 3-ft of 2-conductor cable, an RCA plug, and the connector for your flash unit. | ||
