Light-Activated Trigger and Light-Activated Trigger with Delay*
| This trigger operates the reverse of our
photogate kits. The output of the light-activated trigger is
switched on when light shines on the detector. A laser pointer
works particularly well as a light source, since the
phototransistor is sensitive to visible light and has a narrow
angle of view. The LAT includes 6 feet of 2-conductor cable.
This can be cut into two lengths in order to
connect the output to a flash unit and also to move the photo
transistor to a
location away from the breadboard.
|
| An electronic delay unit may be
used with the LAT to achieve timing synchronization. You
receive a $1.00 discount when purchasing a LAT trigger with a
delay unit. |
| When purchasing a
LAT kit with a breadboard, there is a $1.00
savings over buying a kit and breadboard separately.

*Customers have reported that when using
the delay unit outputs to trigger Canon 430ex and 580ex flash units,
the flash unit is disabled after each discharge until the unit is
turned off and on again. In order to correct this problem, two 1-kW
replacement resistors are included with each delay unit and
combination kit. These resistors may be used in place of the 22-kW
resistors that lead from outputs 5 and 9 of the 556 timer.
