Assembly and Operating Instructions for HiViz Kits
Multi-Trigger Enclosure (Large)
Note: This unit has been superceded by the Multi-Trigger Enclosure Kit.
Below is a larger version of a Multi-Trigger enclosure than the one shown here. With a larger project box, more features can be included. In addition, the box lid is large enough to accommodate all the pots, jacks, switches, and LEDs. This simplifies wiring and connection to the breadboard. The battery can also be placed inside the box instead of being mounted on the outside. (However, outside mounting may be preferred in order to be able to switch batteries quickly without opening the box.)

Features and functions (The additional features over the smaller design are italicized.)
-
Power switch
-
Power on indicator LED
- Input selector switch selects between microphone and photogate inputs
-
Delay divider switch: This allows one to divide the maximum delay by 10, thereby allowing much finer control for events requiring very short synchronizing delays.
- Timeout: This provides two settings, long and short, for the amount of time after a triggering event before the delay unit can be triggered again.
- Microphone and photogate input jacks
- Sensitivity adjustment for the sound trigger and photogate
- Fine and coarse delay adjustments
- Input for 9-V AC/DC adapter to use in place of battery
-
Test button: Pressing the button triggers the delay unit, as indicated by the Triggering Indicator. - Sound trigger output: This is the direct output of the sound trigger, bypassing the delay unit. Note that this output uses a 3.5mm mono plug rather than the RCA-style plug that the other outputs use. The reason for this is that use of the 3.5mm plug disconnects the delay unit internally at the same time that it connects to the output of the sound trigger. This provides protection for the delay unit in the event that a flash unit with high-voltage terminals is used. In order to have the convenience of connecting to all outputs using an RCA plug, the adapter shown to the right can be inserted into the sound trigger output. This output can't be used with the Camera Opto-Switch; however, it can be used with this remote shutter cable.
- Instant and Delayed Outputs: Output jacks can be used to connect either to a camera shutter cable or a flash cable. Connections to the camera outputs must be made using the Camera Opto-Switch.

If you're making your own enclosure using the large project box (6.0"x3.5"x1.875"), templates and a parts list are given below. The template is a gif image which should print at the correct size to fit inside the project box lid.
