Optoelectronics and Transducers

 

These are the optoelectronic parts and transducers used in our kits.

INT Interrupter The interrupter, which is used in our SPG2 kits, houses an infrared emitter and detector in the same module. The gap of 5/8" (1.6 cm) is just right for detecting falling drops. INT - $0.95
QSC113 Phototransistor This NPN phototransistor is used in our light-activated triggers. QSC113 - $0.50
ILED  Infrared light-emitting diode This LED is used in our photogate kits (SPG1 and TPG). It has a peak sensitivity at 940 nm. ILED - $0.20
IPT Infrared phototransistor This NPN phototransistor is matched to the ILED above. IPT - $0.20
RLED Red light-emitting diode This LED can be used as an indicator light for our SPG1 and SPG2 kits and delay units. See more information here. RLED - $0.20
PZ Piezoelectric disc This disc can be used to detect sharp sounds such as claps, snaps, and bursts. We use this disc in our sound triggers. PZ - $2.95
