Collisions are great subjects for high-speed photography. They usually happen quickly enough that special lighting is required to see what happens during the collision. A flash unit, sound trigger, and camera are all that is needed to capture the distortion of a tennis ball in colliding with a racket or of a football in colliding with a foot.  The techniques for taking such photographs are described in the Activities section.
