This photo attests to some similarities in the way balloons burst. The yellow and red balloons, in particular, have a notch in about the same place at the bottom. Coincidence? Note also the V-shape of the string where the balloons are tied. Apparently, the puncturing instrument was pushed down quickly enough that the string only had time to respond in the area close to the impulse.
