Devil's Face Balloons and Other Creative Bursts

The unique pattern of the rips in some of these bursting balloons was a matter of design. The effect was achieved using 3-pronged puncturing instruments of various kinds.

Among other creative photos, Richard captured his self portrait reflected from a balloon popped with a lit match.

Richard graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the spring of '98.  Prior to that, he was a student at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
